Daniel Abreu
Daniel Abreu creates learning spaces to deepen our connection to the natural world. He is a co-organizer of the Young Leaders for the Planet, based in the Dominican Republic, which offers nature education for schoolchildren and adolescents. This program offers opportunities for youth to meaningfully engage in ecological and climate-based thinking, and to work hands-on and collaboratively. The students are instructed in several interdisciplinary areas such as ecology, biology, sociology, ethnobotany, permaculture, mindfulness, and conflict management.
Daniel is a facilitator of the “Work that Reconnects,” bringing together traditional wisdom and contemporary science. His key focus is on nurturing deep connections between humans and all elements of nature. He organizes talks, conferences, retreats, and educational programs for people of all ages. His objectives are to engage people in ecological practices to foster a renewed perspective and connection to the natural world, and learning to take up roles as agents of regeneration for the earth. He has participated in the United Nations Climate Change conferences an official negotiator on behalf of his country, the Dominican Republic. He is an expert on youth outreach and empowerment, leadership development and corporate social responsibility.
